Wooden Fences
Frequently asked questions
De Sutter Naturally stands for top quality, durability, and a stylish, rural appearance that adds value to your property. Our fences are expertly installed with attention to detail, and the safety of your animals is central to this.
We offer tailored guidance, from selection to installation, to ensure the fence perfectly meets your needs and the specific characteristics of your terrain. This results in a sustainable investment you can enjoy for years without worry.
We mainly use tropical hardwood of durability class 1, with a lifespan of 30 years or more, and maximally impregnated pine softwood, which lasts at least 20 years. Both types of wood are selected for their durability and require no further maintenance.
Tropical hardwood offers a luxurious appearance and weathers beautifully, while our impregnated pine acquires an elegant grey sheen. With over 45 years of experience, we know the quality of our wood even in the long term, and we confidently provide a warranty.
Our fences are designed with the safety of your animals as the priority. They are smoothly finished, without sharp edges, and often the rails are slid through the posts (through-mortise systems) without using nails or screws, which is safer.
The constructions are robust and clearly visible to animals such as horses, which helps prevent accidents. The height and number of rails are adjusted to the type of animal.
Our experienced craftsmen use specialized and advanced equipment, including a uniquely developed post-vibrating machine. This machine ensures that the posts are perfectly vertical and firmly anchored in any type of soil, even on sloping terrain or at curves.
Thanks to refined lasers and electronic sensors, the posts are level and at the correct depth, which not only guarantees sturdiness but also provides a flawless finish for the fence.
Our fences, made from tropical hardwood or maximally impregnated pine, are designed to be low-maintenance. These types of wood naturally or through treatment have a high resistance to weather influences and wood rot.
The most important maintenance is keeping the grass and vegetation short under and directly alongside the fence, especially if electric wire is installed. This prevents power loss and protects the posts from prolonged contact with moisture.
Yes, we can install a subtly integrated electric wire on your wooden fence. This circuit is mounted with ring or W-insulators.
An electric fence provides double protection: it prevents animals from gnawing on or rubbing against the wood, which extends the lifespan of the fence, and it teaches animals to respect the barrier.
Absolutely. We provide a perfectly adjusted pasture gate that seamlessly matches the style, wood type, and durability of your chosen wooden fence.
Like our fences, our gates are crafted and installed with the utmost care to ensure ultimate ease of use and a long lifespan. Gates can also be electrically protected.
A De Sutter Naturally fence increases the value of your property by combining high-quality, durable materials, expert installation, and an elegant rural look that perfectly integrates into the surroundings.
It exudes quality and care, which not only increases aesthetic appeal but also improves the functional safety and privacy of your estate.
We stand behind the quality of our products. For our maximally impregnated pine fences (Densiforce®), you can expect a lifespan of at least 20 years.
For our tropical hardwood fences, the most durable type of wood, the lifespan easily exceeds 30 years. With over 45 years of experience, we know the quality of our wood, even in the long term.
A cheaper fence can often turn out to be more expensive in the long run due to higher maintenance costs, shorter lifespan, or safety risks for your animals.
Investing in the quality of De Sutter Naturally means choosing durability, superior materials, expert installation, and ultimately peace of mind, knowing that your fence is safe and will stand the test of time.
